Our Expectations

The Work

What we look for

  • Algorithm, architecture and application — before the first line You see the implementations an equation allows, what each costs in instructions and cycles, and which one the application actually needs. Then you write it once.
  • Product sense in three dimensions You hear a product and can tell what the algorithm got right and what it cost. You know which tradeoffs the architecture forced — price, power, performance — and which ones were a choice. That's what earns you a voice: in what gets built, and in how the world hears.
  • Programming fluency You turn ideas into abstractions and abstractions into code the way you speak your mother tongue.

What it is not

  • Not a pure coding job If you want a ticket, a spec and a clear definition of done, you will find this uncomfortable. The problem arrives undefined, and understanding it is most of the work. The code is what's left over.
  • Not a resume-builder You won't collect trendy stacks here. You will spend years going deep on codecs and acoustics — which is worth little at a keyword screen and a great deal to anyone who actually needs this built.
  • Not general industry exposure You trade breadth across unrelated domains for depth in one that takes years to learn. If you want to sample many industries before deciding what you care about, decide first, then come back.
